c1885-88 1719 N. Main Street, Honesdale John L. Burcher built this house for his bride, Ann Hartwell, on property given to him by his mother, Elizabeth Burcher. John L. Burcher was a noted and successful logger, large land owner along the Delaware River in the area of Milanville, PA. He also operated a general store in Greeley, PA. John's son, William E. Burcher, also was a logger. When John died in 1910, his wife Ann continued to live in it. In 1945 their grandson, Russell H. Burcher took over the ownership. After Russell's death, his wife Frieda sold the house in 1968. Architectural style: Greek Revival.
From 1993 through 2008 the Honesdale National Bank published an annual wall calendar, each featured 13 historic sites. The sites were chosen and researched by a committee of the historical society and artwork was commissioned to Judy Hunt and William Amptman by the bank.
